Congratulations! You’ve just booked a tour with Wonders of Yunnan! You’re about to embark on an unforgettable journey, but before you’re on the plane to China there’s one more step: getting the visa.

Most countries are not granted visa an arrival, every traveler must submit a visa application at the embassy/consulate in their native country. For the U.S., each state has a designated embassy/consulate.

 

Here’s how it works.

As you’ll be traveling to China as part of an organized tour with Wonders of Yunnan, you’ll be applying for a tourist visa type “L”.

Wonders of Yunnan will provide the supporting documents, which you simply print out:

  • The full itinerary of the tour
  • Bookings at hotels for every day of the tour
  • An official invitation letter

You’ll have to add the following documents:

  • Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and blank visa pages, not altered/damaged/smudged in any way
  • A copy of the passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate
  • The round-trip airline ticket
  • The filled in standard application form with your original signature, download here 
  • Photographs that meet these requirements
  • VISA processing fee

 

The V.2013 form has 4 pages and it requires basic information and a glued photograph.

For U.S. citizens, your application must be submitted Chinese Embassy/ Consulate General based on your State of residence. To locate the visa office that serves your state click here.

 

You may submit your application in person, or use an agent. An appointment is NOT required for submission or collection of your visa. Walk-in service is available during office hours. You must pay the visa fee once your application is processed and approved. Acceptable methods of payment are:  credit card (Visa or Mastercard only), money order, cashier's check or company check.

Regular service: 4 business days

Express service: 2-3 business days

 

VISA process fee for U.S. citizens as stated on the official website of the People's Republic of China Embassy in the U.S. 

 Express service:  an additional fee of $25 per visa

*Visa fee for certain non-U.S. citizens may vary from the list above based on reciprocal agreements. Please check with a Visa Office for special fees.
