This year the October Golden Week will be exceptionally long! In fact, besides celebrating the National Day of the People’s Republic of China (1 Oct.), we’ll also have an extra day to eat mooncakes!
According to the Chinese calendar, Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month: this year’s 4 October. This day is within the National Day Golden Week (1-7 Oct.), extending the holiday to 8 October.
During this period, institutions, schools, banks, as well as most offices will be closed.
Wonders Of Yunnan Travel office will be closed from 1 to 8 October; we’ll be back on duty on Monday, 9 October.
Just like during other Chinese public holidays, visitors to China should be aware that millions of domestic travelers will be on the road using this long break to explore the country. Nearly everywhere you’ll have to deal with large crowds of people, long queues, higher prices, sold out tickets, traffic jams, delays and other headaches.
Thanks to its warm and mild autumn weather, Yunnan is one of the most popular travel destinations during this time of the year.
We at Wonders of Yunnan highly recommend our customers not to plan their trip during the October Holiday. If you still wish to visit China and Yunnan at this time, please make sure to plan your journey in a timely manner and follow our advice to survive the National Day Golden Week.
Should you need any support or first-hand information, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Wonders Of Yunnan Team wishes you a great National Holiday and a happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
