1 Day Kunming City Tour

Get picked up at your Kunming address at 9am and have a relaxing stroll around Green Lake Park, the city’s central park with beautiful scenery and tranquil atmosphere. You can also try Dai Food or typical Yunnan rice noodles nearby.

We then visit nearby Flower and Bird Market, an enchanting shopping and sightseeing center with a true local flavor. Enjoy a multitude of shops and stores standing along the long and narrow streets displaying a huge variety of flowers, various kinds of plants and all sorts of seeds. Bonsais and tree-root carvings are also available. Apart from these, ornamental birds, goldfish and red carp, fish tanks and fishing tackle can also be found here. The market also acts as a trading center for various kinds of antiques, including jade objects, ink slabs, ancient coins, porcelain and other handicrafts. Teahouses and shops selling interesting delicacies, such as sweet wine, braised bean curd and others are dotted in the market, forming a great convenient shopping environment to visitors.

Afterwards we head to the Yunnan Nationalities Museum (opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00h - 16:30h). Located at the northeast corner of the Dianchi Lake, it is reputedly the largest ethnic groups’ museum in China. The exhibition of costumes, ornaments, architecture elements are comprehensive and come with proper English captions and videos.

We also visit close Dianchi Lake and stroll along the lakefront, enjoying beautiful views upon the Western Hills right opposite. Get dropped-off by your driver and guide at your Kunming address again (e.g. hotel).

Optional evening activity: Visit the highly rated Dynamic Yunnan Show. The show, starting at 20:00h every day at Kunming Artistic Drama House is a 1 and a half-hour performance. Highly recommended by Wonders of Yunnan Travel and Tripadvisor.com
