5 Days Sichuan Tour with Hiking at Mt. Emei

Day 01: Chengdu

Upon arrival at the Chengdu airport, your local guide and driver will meet you, and drive you to the hotel. Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province, which is well known for its hot and spicy food. And of course the national treasure – the Giant Panda. Enjoy a free and relaxing evening in the city.

Day 02: Chengdu – Leshan & Mt. Emei

In the morning, we are going to enjoy a rare opportunity to visit the Giant Panda Breeding Research Center. This massive ecological and zoological park offers a wonderful chance to get face-to-face with China's "National Treasure". There is also a panda museum that has detailed exhibitions on panda evolution, habits, habitats and conservation efforts. Afterwards we will drive to Leshan. Visit the largest stone statue of Buddha in the world – Leshan Buddha, which sits in the turbulent joint of three rivers. We will take a River Cruise to have a look at it from the water. The day will end with a drive to Mt. Emei.

Day 03: Mt. Emei

In the morning, we will begin our hiking from the Baoguo Temple. We’ll arrive in Xianfeng Temple in the late afternoon. The hike is not easy due to steep and long trails. But the beautiful scenery compensates the effort. We will enjoy the high mountains and temples on the way, pass the 99 Bends as well as the Wild Monkey Kingdom.

Hiking time today: 5-6 hours

Kind Note: There are lots of small temples on the way that offer very simple meals for lunch. For gourmets we recommend to bring some extra food for the hike.

Day 04: Mt. Emei

Today we will continue our last hiking leg. We will cross the high altitude virgin forest and arrive at the Summit of Mt. Emei, Jinding. Here we will enjoy both the huge Golden Buddha and the most beautiful scenic of sunset on the mountain.

Hiking for today: 5-6 hours

Day 05: Mt. Emei-Chengdu-Departure

Today we will get up very early to enjoy the sun rise from this mountain, watch the Sea of Clouds and the Magic Buddhist Light. After 2 days hiking, we will take the cable car down to the entrance again and drive back to Chengdu where will pay a visit to the Wide & Narrow Alley. Later, we’ll bring you to the airport or train station from where you can take a flight to the next destination.
