6 Days Join-In-Group Tour Tibet: Ancient City Tour

Day 1 Arrival Lhasa

You are warmly welcomed to Tibet: 'Tashi Delek'! We pick you up at the airport or the train station and bring you to your hotel in Lhasa. You can have a good rest to acclimatize to the high altitude for the rest of the day.

Day 2 Lhasa

In the morning, we visit the famous Potala Palace and explore the grandest of local myriad chapels. In the afternoon we will visit the holiest temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, and at Barkor Kora, which is the most famous Street in Lhasa, probably Tibet. Typical traditional Tibetan products can be bought here. In the evening we invite you to a Tibetan style dinner!

Day 3 Lhasa

Today, we will visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung and the Sera Monastery. If we are lucky, we may even come across debating monks in the Sera Monastery. This is an old tradition and takes place in the courtyard in the afternoon.

Day 4 Lhasa - Gyangtse - Shigatse

Passing by the green farmlands of Nyangchu Valley, the large Yamzho Lake and the beautiful Karo-La Glacier at 4960m, we move westwards to Tibet's second biggest city, Shigatse, which is spiritually hosted by Pamchan Lama. On the way, we also stopover in Gyangtse where we pay a visit to the local Kumbum, a multi-storied Buddhist chapel.

Day 5 Shigatse - Lhasa

Before we make our way back to Lhasa from Shigatse on a different route, we visit the largest of all monasteries in western Tibet, the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, which is seat to the Panchen Lama, the second most important spiritual leader of Tibet.

Day 6 Lhasa, Departure

After breakfast, your tour guide and driver will drop you off at Lhasa Airport or train station according to your travel plans and schedule. Your Tibet tour comes to an end today.
