Puzhehei is a little town surrounded by an amazing area composed of a very unique karst landscape. Located a bit off the beaten track of Yunnan's main travel destinations, Puzhehei is especially worth a visit during summer time when colorful lotus flowers cover lakes and rivers. Some 300 kilometers south of Kunming, the beautiful area reaches an overall dimension of 165 square kilometers. Apart from the lotus flowers, the area is known paricularly among photographers, coming here capturing an increadibly dramatic sky.

Since China's high speed railway also connects Yunnan, it is now a bit easier to reach the area from Kunming. Below an overview of all possible transportation methods from Kunming to Puzhehei.

1. By Bus

You can take the bus at Kunming's Eastern Bus Terminal to Qiubei. Depending on the connection and the traffic conditions, it usually takes 4 to 6 hours, and costs 120 RMB per ticket. In Qiubei another public bus has to be taken to Puzhehei, which takes about half an hour and only costs 3 RMB per person. Please note that since April 2017, overland bus tickets are personalized in Yunnan and travelers need to show their original passports or ID cards when purchasing the tickets!

2. By High-Speed Train

Since a couple of months, also a high-speed train line connects Kunming and Puzhehei. Note that the newly opened Kunming South Train Station as well as the high speed train terminal in Puzhehei are outside of the centers. While you can take the subway in Kunming to reach the new train station, in Puzhehei, the public bus or a taxi to the Puzhehei National Tourist Resort has to be taken (50-80 RMB). Please contact us if you like us to book the train tickets for you.

3. By Airplane

Puzhehei itself doesn't have an airport, which is actually quite nice if you come to enjoy calmness and nature. The plane from Kunming lands at Wenshan Puzhehei Airport, which is nearly 100 km south of Puzhehei. Flight tickets cost around 600-800 RMB per person for a round trip. From Wenshan Puzhehei Airport, you can first take a taxi to Yanshan, from there take the public bus to Puzhehei. It takes around 2 hours. There is currently one flight daily in each direction:
