According to the UN's World Tourism Organization, international tourism is on the rise. In 2015, travelers from all over the world broke a new record and pushed the number up to nearly 1.2 billion international overnight visitors - despite of numerous crises all over the globe. While already in 2014, Chinese tourists once more took the pole position with unchallenged rise of +28%, USA, Germany and the UK follow with moderate single-digit increases. Below an overview:

The preferred destination of these international travelers is Europe with Russia and Central Asia (51%). Number two, marked in the graphics below in yellow, is the Asia Pasific region covering mainly China, Southeast Asia and Australia:
