WOY arranged most things for our group of 9 people, including recommending our schedule, places to visit, and arranging our driver, ride, and tour guides. Everything was excellent. Christy Huang was a pleasure to deal with. Our tour guide in Kunming, Ching Ee, was also excellent. So was our tour guide in Lijiang, Cindy. At first i was sceptical, as full payment was requested upfront, and as some might know, you have to be extra careful when dealing with China. As it turned out, my concerns were unfounded. Everything was excellent. WOY are totally trustworthy. We were very pleased with their service and professionalism. Any issues i had, with the hotel or schedule, etc, were handled promptly and expediently. I would definitely use their service again.

Our tour in Yunnan comprised: Kunming, flying to Dali, and then driving to Lijiang. Very well-organized tours. Fluent English speaking guides who are very friendly and helpful, especially the guide we had in Dali. He was exceptional! He was so interested in showing us Dali and trying to make sure we see and experience all the places we visit at a good pace. He was so well-organized with great timing and had the driver at the appropriate place to pick us up at precisely the right time. (We never needed to wait.) The driver was also wonderful! The hotels (luxury) were very good. The hotel in Dali had buildings in the midst of a beautiful garden with so many different flowers in bloom. Great breakfasts! The hotel in Lijiang was also amazing. We got to know the owner and it was amazing getting to know her and all her creative entreprenurial plans which are to give back to the native people of Lijiang. The places we visited were so beautiful and memorable. The only thing we regret is not seeing the show in Lijiang. We did not know that it was such a special artistic and professional show and only a couple of places in China has such a magnificient show! (I learned about it at the end of our trip on the flight out from Lijiang.) Yunnan is such a special place unlike some major cities in China. Here, the air is fresh and you can breathe! The scenery is beautiful. The food is great! The guides took us to excellent restaurants! Our favourite dish is Yak meat from a special type of hairy cow raised in Tibet.

YUNNAN REALLY IS WONDERFUL! YUNNAN REALLY IS WONDERFUL! My husband and I have recently returned from a 14 day holiday in north-west Yunnan, which was entirely organized through the Kunming-based company, Wonders of Yunnan Travel. Not only did we visit Kunming and the Stone Forest, we also spent time in and around Dali, Shaxi, Lijiang, Shangri-La, Deqin and Tacheng. All the details of our tour were arranged by Joy, who lived up to her name by being an absolutely joy to work with. She arranged our guides, drivers, accommodation, breakfasts, lunches and tours with great professionalism and impeccable attention to detail. My husband and I are both retired Australian teachers, and we were keen to learn as much as possible about Yunnan. Our English-speaking guides made sure that every day of our two weeks was full of amazing sights, interesting experiences and stimulating encounters with local people. Jenny introduced us to Kunming and the remarkable Stone Forest; Tony showed us the beauties of Bai culture in Dali and Shaxi; Rodney helped us understand Naxi culture, the ancient Dongba religion and the glorious landscape and traditions of the Lijiang area; while Gyatso taught us much about Tibetan culture and religion while guiding us through the breathtakingly beautiful landscapes of Shangri-La, Deqin and Tacheng. For the full fourteen days we had a driver and a very comfortable, brand new car. Chen, who was our driver for twelve of those days, went well beyond the call of duty - he cared for us as if we were members of his own family. We have returned to Australia with many wonderful stories of what we saw and did, and of the many friendly, welcoming people me met along the way. We also have hundreds of photographs to remind us of just how beautiful this part of China truly is. Should you be considering booking a tour with Wonders of Yunnan Travel, my advice is - DO IT! I found them an excellent company, offering first class service at a very reasonable price.
