We selected WoY based on TripAdvisor comments which were very favourable. And we are glad we did! From the first contact by email we were VERY impressed by their responsiveness and professionalism. We had submitted our wishlist of places to visit, and within a very short time we received back constructive comments about feasibility (time constraints, distances, weather etc) and potential alternatives. As we were also looking for some sites "off the beaten track" (like Heijing, Red Lands), WoY very quickly has put together an itinerary which perfectly met our needs. Our tour guide Vivian was just wonderful. From pickup at the airport to dropoff in Kunming at the end of the tour, everything was very well organized. Vivian speaks perfect english, is extremely knowledgable about Yunnan and China, and was packaging information in just the right amount without overloading us :-). Above all, she is a very charming host, great sense of humour, and she picked restaurants with such great food which we would not have found without her. We got really addicted to noodle soup for breakfast :-)! She even wrote down in Mandarin addresses of restaurants and bars for taxi drivers in the evenings, including remarks "please turn on the meter" :-), to make sure we did not get ripped off. Time was truly flying with Vivian, great trip, great entertainment. Not to forget about our driver, who drove us safely and without any hassle. We have already decided to come back at some time to Yunnan, and will definitely insist on Vivian as our tour guide! Thanks again for all the great support! Much appreciated!

We have used a few different tour companies for various trips across Asia and Wonders of Yunnan is right up there with the very best. Our travel agent and point of contact, Joy, was fantastic. It was really easy to discuss our options and preferences and to share ideas. It was clear that the company wanted to make sure that we had the very best experience. Our guide on the first night was Rodney who was great at showing us the Old Town in Lijiang on our fist evening (beautiful) and the First Bend of the Yangtze the next morning. Rodney handed over to Tsering for the next five days. Tsering (and our driver) was just brilliant at giving us the best tour! Really knowledgeable, really helpful, lots of energy, we knew we were in very good hands. We headed north all the way from Lijiang to Deqin, stopping for a day and a half at Shangri La. An easy drive, very safe. (We did not have any real problems with the altitude, although we could definitely feel the difference). Thanks to Tsering those five days have given us the very best memories, and about 500 awesome photographs! On the return, we finished with an afternoon in Kunming before flying home to Singapore. Vivien was amazing in showing us round her city for a few hours. Lovely company, really fascinating discussions, like having a chat with an old friend, 100% perfect English, and she has made us already start thinking about visiting again and to do a tour heading south. We had already done quite a bit of research and had a few ideas of what we wanted to see on the whole tour, including seeing Kawagarbo and climbing to the Mingyong Glacier. Joy then helped us shape the ideas into a proper tour that was easily-manageable in the time we had. Equally you could simply tell Joy nothing other than when you want to visit and for how long and the tour company will do the rest! It is a beautiful area and the company is very proud in being able to show it to visitors. With the level of professionalism and obvious enjoyment in their work, it is easy to see why Wonders of Yunnan is so highly recommended. We look forward to using them again!
