The Buddhist culture in China is ubiquitous. So are temples and vegetarian restaurants. Only in Kunming, ther are already dozens of restaurants where all kind of meat is replaed by other ingredients as tofu and flour-breaded vegetables. And it does taste great!
While many of our guests in Yunnan choose to use the train or book a car with driver to get around on their tour, only few take the opportunity for self-driving. It actually is possible but you would need to apply for a Chinese driver's license first. If you have some time it's worth it!
Kunming is called Spring City for a good reason. While we can enjoy friendly spring weather in Kunming nearly all year round, the 'real' spring has something special to offer: Kunming in bloom - do as the bees do and get attracted by colorful blossoms.

Kunming is Yunnan's major infrastructure hub. Besides Yunnan's biggest airport and train station, Kunming is also home to several long distance bus terminals from where day and night coaches reach about every corner of the province. Safe travels!
We reported about the airport shuttle buses the other day. At twelve of their bus stations it is now possible to check-in for one's flight already prior to arriving at the airport. Receive your boarding pass at one of the stations first and skip the procedure at the airport!
