Lugu Lake is a very beautiful place, roughly 200 km northeast of Lijiang by road. But it's exactly this road which still makes it very difficult to reach the remote area. Especially during rainy summer seasons like now, floods and landslides are a daily occurence!

All year round is BBQ time in Kunming. So also we take the opportunity every once in a while to close our office, get together with our colleagues, families, friends, drivers and tour guides and heat the grill. Besides delicious food, also games were on the agenda.

The one hundred chicken temple, as Baiji Temple (百鸡寺) would be translated, dates back to the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368). It is located in the west of Shangri-La's Dukezong Ancient Town and offers an amazing bird's eye view of the ancient town and the surrounding city.
